EEG Lab
The EEG lab staff play an important role in the diagnosis and follow-up of childhood epilepsy and in the fine-tuning of the treatment. They take EEGs in the hospitalization department and interpret the results together with the doctors.

Doctor & Epilepsy Nurse
Nele informs and guides children with epilepsy and their parents about seizures, medication and daily management of the condition. She works closely with the treatment team, draws up seizure plans and explains to the environment, such as school. She also offers support for a VNS trajectory (nervus vagus stimulator), from preparation to follow-up.

Dietician
She specializes in the therapeutic ketogenic diet and will provide guidance on concerns regarding increased or decreased appetite, weight, supplementary feeding and/or tube feeding.

She focuses on language and speech development, school skills (reading, spelling, arithmetic) and swallowing difficulties.
Vera Vangeneugden
Psychological assistant
Vera supports children and parents with questions about behavior, development and upbringing. She performs psychological research, provides explanations about epilepsy and works together with the team and external care providers. Vera also visits admitted children to listen and support. She is a bridge between child, family and guidance.

The neurosurgery department focuses on surgically treatable disorders of the nervous system, the skull, and the spine.

The radiology department uses X-rays, ultrasound, and radiofrequency waves (magnetic resonance) to produce images for the diagnosis and, in some cases, treatment of diseases.
